ENTHRALLING PERFORMANCES AT OLYMPIA’S ORIENTATION NIGHT

As the adage goes “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. Olympia College, Penang campus organised the Orientation Night on 20 July 2007 based on the theme “Cultural Night – Lost in the Glamour of Tradition” – synonymous to a night that is full of culture and tradition.  At Olympia, students are greatly encouraged to take part in co-curricular activities and also to ensure that the students have a sense of responsibility not only to themselves but also to the society.

In accordance to the theme, the students gave wonderful performances exhibiting various cultures in their performance.  Among the performances are modern dance, comedy sketch, Indian stick dance, duet song and hip hop dance. The audience was entertained by the extraordinarily talented students. 

The Best Performance Award was won by Anba’s Group for Comedy Sketch.   The Mr. and Miss Popularity of Olympia College title were crowned to Anbarasan and Nageswary  respectively.

Ms Winnie Chan, the College Principal said, “The Orientation Night is indeed a big success that brings together and strengthens the bond between the staff and students of Olympia College.

A harmonious environment with happiness and joy can be seen among the family of Olympia College. The students involved in organizing college activities does not only gain hands-on experience and learning through team work but it also develops their organizational skills.”

“We are proud to say that citizens from different races and cultures have been

living in perfect harmony all these years. Embracing and appreciating the cultural of others is a continuous learning process. Cultures also add colors to our lives. When we understand one’s culture, we will appreciate each other’s cultures  and together we will build a stronger country.” she added.
