Teluk Batik Trip for Olympia’s Hotel Students
The Hosteurs Club (a club for hotel programme students) had organised a joint activity with Young Achievers Society (YAS), a trip to Teluk Batik. Around 20 students and lecturers participated in this activity. Prior to this trip, the group had scheduled places to be visited – the Pokok Ru Garden and also the Jellyfish Garden which are situated along the way to Teluk Batik.
The entourage departed at 8.30am. The journey was very exciting and the group reached at Teluk Batik at around 10.20am. Everyone was very excited and headed to the beach, enjoying the breeze and the sound of waves slapping onto the beach. Some went swimming and the others were just hanging out at the beach and snapping loads of pictures. We stayed there till about 1.30pm before heading to Lumut for shopping of seafood products.
The journey from Teluk Batik to Lumut only took about 15 minutes and the group reached at about 1.45pm. We took our time looking at the products and made our purchases and soon made our journey to Sitiawan for seafood.
We reached Villa Seafood Restaurant and savoured the freshly cooked seafood such as oysters, crabs and fish. After lunch, the group made a visit to Pokok Ru Garden.
According to Ms Cindy Chong, the Principal of Ipoh campus, “The objective of the trip, which was after the final exams, was partly for fun and for strengthening friendship among club members. We took advantage of the opportunity to expose our students to tourist spots that are not as well known in Perak."
