Course Structure	The programme allows both career and educational progression for students who wish to pursue a management career in the hospitality industry or intend to further their studies abroad. It enables students to make use of the skills they acquired throughout the course of study.
Duration	2 1/2 years (including industrial placement of 6 months)
Entry Requirement	STPM with 1 principal pass or approved equivalent qualification OR 3 Bs in Senior Middle III (UEC) OR Certificate in Hotel Operations awarded by Olympia College or its approved equivalent recognised by BTEC Edexcel

Features	Qualified and experienced academic staff with industry experience. Comprehensive in-house practical training in Front Office Operations, Food and Beverage Bar Operations / Restaurant Services Operations and Housekeeping Operations with modern facilities. Practical training with reputed tourism related organisations and hotels, for exposure. Students will be given the opportunity to work and be trained in four core operating departments - food and beverage, kitchen, house-keeping and front office. Presentation skill workshops. Advanced standing to transfer to degree programme with several UK, Switzerland and Australian universities on meeting the university's criteria. Scholarship available for students with good SPM / STPM academic achievements which are supported with evidence of financial standing. The programme is approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Progression to higher education to complete a Bachelor’s degree locally or overseas. Time and cost-saving pathway to a foreign degree. Excursion trips. Students are placed into reputable hotels for their practical training through MAH (Malaysian Association of Hotels). Teaching & Learning Methods	Qualified lecturers will introduce, reinforce, enhance, and promote ideas and concepts through lectures, tutorial discussions, workshops in classrooms, computer labs and kitchen, with supplemental teaching aids.
Learning Outcomes	Explore the changing role of hospitality staff in different contexts. Analyse one’s own potential as a prospective manager. Analyse a customer service policy within a business and service context. Plan and develop recipes and menus. Apply techniques to maximize and measure occupancy and rooms revenue. Present reports with justifying conclusions and associated recommendations. Evaluate and analyse a set of business accounts and analyse performance. Evaluate procurement issues and their application to commercial operations. Analyse product development within a hospitality environment and evaluate food production and service. Evaluate the process and procedures involved in people management. Analyse the role of the marketing mix in service industry context. Evaluate the tools and techniques of internal sales promotions. Differentiate between e-Business models. Investigate how the legal and political environment affects business and service industries. Investigate the impact of the changes in socio-economic in a service industry

The School of Hotel Management has a strong working relationship with the industry which enables our graduates easy employment upon graduation.
